This HDMI 1.4 cable adds practical enhancements over version 1.0 or 1.3 for HDMI connectivity.

If home theater components such as HDTV's, BLU-RAY disc players, and home theater receivers are HDMI 1.4 enabled, the following features can be implemented.

  • The High Speed HDMI cable is designed and tested to handle video resolutions of 1080p and beyond, including advanced display technologies such as 4K, 3D, and Deep Color.
  • If you are using any of these technologies, or if you are connecting your 1080p display to a 1080p content source, such as a BLU-RAY Disc player, this is the recommended cable.

For consumers that have components that only feature HDMI version 1.0 through 1.3, you won't be able to access these added version 1.4 features. For consumers that have the HDMI 1.4 Cable you will still be able to uses your current HDMI 1.0 to 1.3 components, and you will be able to use future components designed with new 1.4 features later on.
