This "Dictionary" is in NM Grade with All pages here and complete...This is virtually unread and perfect!!
This HUGE Volume is ambitious in scope, but compact in size. It is 7" x 7" and contains 376 pages in a chunky 0.8" thick package. It begins with a surprisingly detailed 42-page "History of Comic Book Action Heroes", before attempting to tackle 500 Heroes by splitting them into arbitrary chapters:
Male Heroes
Female Heroes
Teams
Newspaper Heroes
War Heroes
Western Heroes
Sci-Fi Heroes!
There's a ton of info in this book. Most of it is accuratem but he problem is the selection, organisation and presentation of that information...the book has tries to do far too much for the space available. A top 100 Heroes would have given a far better result. Still, ALL of the greats are covered: Superman, Batman, the Flash, Green Lantern, Sheena of the Jungle, Wonder Woman, Captain America, Blade, Vampirella, the Incredible Hulk, Spider-Man, Mister Miracle, Thor, The Fantastic Four and many more are covered!! In addition to these well-known masked and costumed crime fighters, readers are introduced to hundreds more relatively obscure but equally fascinating characters in this collection of comic book heroes that spans the decades from the 1930s to the present day. And Will Eisner, the famous creator of many comic book heroes wrote the foreword to this book!!
