The obverse features the iconic Aztec Calendar Stone, meticulously engraved with the solar deity Tonatiuh at its center, gripping human hearts in his clawed hands, his tongue depicted as a sacrificial blade. Surrounding him are the 20 day-signs of the Aztec month, framed by four cardinal arrows radiating outward, mirroring the majestic sun stone’s cosmic symbolism—a masterpiece of Mesoamerican art originally carved around 1500 and weighing 24 tons. The reverse proudly displays Cuauhtémoc, the last Aztec Emperor of Tenochtitlan, known as the "Descending Eagle." His regal left-profile portrait, adorned with an elaborate feathered headdress and traditional ear ornaments, is encircled by an Aztec border with the inscriptions “FIVE OUNCES" and ".999 FINE COPPER".
