Seller's Description

Charismatic singer/songwriter T. Texas Tyler was a successful figure from the late '40s through the mid-'50s, often credited with helping to popularize the sentimental country "recitation" -- a storytelling composition partly or completely spoken by the performer -- with his massive 1948 hit "Deck of Cards." Here is a "4 Star" record offering his great country sounds. Superb condition with only normal play wear. Scratches are minimal and there are no cracks, chips, or skips. An excellent sound is heard under better than average remaining gloss.

Side 1709 presents the famous recording of, "Deck Of Cards", the recitation with background music. Side 1713 offers "Sweet Thing". Both are performed by "T" Texas Tyler and his Oklahoma Melody Boys.
