Overall condition is acceptable. This trade paperback publication contains the fourth through the sixth books of Burroughs' Barsoom novel series. "Thuvia, Maid of Mars" was published in 1916, "The Chessmen of Mars" in 1922, and "The Master Mind of Mars" in 1927. Illustrations were by J. Allen St. John. The scanner light makes the covers seem brighter than they are. The front cover has moderate to heavy edge wear, dog ear creasing in the upper and lower right corners, a crease running parallel to the spine, discoloration, and obvious shelf wear. The back cover is much the same as the front except there is clear to see chipping (the white spots in the scan) near the upper portion of the back cover and along the bottom edge. The spine has no vertical creasing but heavy edge wear, some chipping, a wrinkle along the lower portion of the spine, discoloration, wear, and "SCI" written in pen at the top of the spine. Internal pages have discolored with age. The former owner used a ink stamp with their name on the inside front cover that bled onto the first page and also on the first page is a ink stamp by a college book store.
