That's Life I Guess by Malcolm Green. 155 pages. Memory Lane, 2011. Good condition.

"Malcolm Green was born in 1928 into the dark and difficult world of North Tyneside, a place still reeling from the decimation of the First World War. And it was not to be long before the horror of war would strike again, with the young Malcolm being evacuated to rural Alnwick, where he would be spared the bombing raids. On leaving school, where he was a successful scholar (for the most part failing history as his esteemed big brother had done before him) Malcolm made the decision to go into farming, which perhaps shows the influence his early days surrounded by fields and countryside had had upon his psyche. During this time the author became a very proficient farm hand and used his skills to good effect. However, a conscription letter on the doormat put paid to Malcolm s rural idyll and he soon found himself in Edinburgh, undertaking military training. This was eventually to lead him to Singapore, where he became a skilled medical technician and put his strong scientific abilities to use in many ways. At 30, the author married his first wife, Brenda, and began the journey into family life which he pursued with vigour. But the hands of fate would eventually tear the couple apart, leaving a perplexed Malcolm to meet Imgard, to whom he is still married and with whom he shares his life to this day."
