But the young people had been a willing human sacrifice according to their religion, and they plot to kill Samson as he sleeps! “The Fugitives, Part 2: The Ritual of Blood!” is 12 pages opens with “In the remains of N'Yark's Port Authority Terminal, Samson rescues a young couple from the murderous attack of a monstrous mole-worm!” as Larsus-Kar realizes that he cannot defeat Samson, and so he makes himself the required human sacrifice. Janus and Valyn decide to learn the ways of the upper world, and teach them to their people!
MIGHTY SAMPSON # 29, Jan. 1975, GD, Whitman variant! This kicks off with an awesome George Wilson painted cover! “Journey into the Past!”  by John Warner (early writing, famous for Judge Dredd) and Jack Abel opens with “N'Yark! Where crumbling stone and steel towers serve as grim reminders of a world that was, but has long since passed.” As Mindor gets a small river cruiser back into operation, and the  group sails up the Hudson to explore. At the Cloisters they encounter Baron Richard, who rules a tribe living as though they were in Medieval times. Mindor is laid low by an infected wound, but Richard says that he can be cured with the horn of a unicorn! Richard imprisons Samson, ordering Sharmaine to capture the unicorn, which is actually a mutation! Samson saves her and fights the radioactive beast. That radiation does indeed heal Mindor, and strengthens Samson, but it kills Richard when he tries to seize it! Some of the tribesfolk leave the Cloisters, while others decide to make their home there and create a new regime, while caring for the irreplaceable artworks!
SPACE FAMILY ROBINSON: LOST IN SPACE # 38, Jan. 1974, Gold Key, GD! “Web of Doom!” sees the crew crash land on a strange planet where they find another ship’s crew trapped by magnetism to the hull of their ship!
