Seller's Description

2002 - - Lucy A. Fazely - - Quilt Style - - Hardcover Book with Dust Jacket

This book was written by Alfred Allan Lewis and published in 1973, Macmillan Publishing Company, NYC.

Book size is approximately 11 inches in height by a little over 9 inches wide and contains 80 pages photos and descriptions.  There are no patterns included in this book.

This 1972 hard-cover book has 179 pages, almost all of which have either multiple black and white photos or hand-drawings to show the quilting process. There is a stray color photo or 2 sprinkled in with these black and white graphics.  Also, there are a few patterns that are small to be used as an example.  No full size patterns.

The author is Alfred Allan Lewis, an actor, director, press agent, and tour manager. He linked up with one of the women in Appalachia to bring this W. Virginia quilt craft out of the hills and into the rest of the world by writing this book.

This book has 7 chapters. Following the chapters,  there is the Index

This book is a quilting road map back into time, stretching back to our ancestors in Europe, who made quilts, and the craft was kept alive by morphing into American quilts. Especially those of Appalachia. This book would be a welcome addition to libraries of all quilters everywhere.

This book is in VERY GOOD to GOOD condition. There are no marks, writing, store stamps, price tags, creases and/or scuffs. No torn or creased pages or corners. These books are all used (very, very little) but not damaged in any way.  You will be more than happy to add to your collection of Vintage Books.  I am clearing out all of my books for Quilting and Cross-Stitch, my hands can't do the stitching any longer and there is no sense in keeping the books around just to look at.  Maybe there is some one else that would like to learn and have the patterns and instructions to so many varied items.

I have taken all the photos, what you see is what you get, I do not retouch any photos.  The dust jacket is scraped on the back cover and corners are scuffed.  No damage to the actual book.  Also there is no ISBN number listed.

I do combine on shipping, but due to the weight of most of these books, I can not state a set second book postage price.  Multiple purchases will be weighed and the best price available given.
