Seller's Description
This has a lot of information, if you are really interested in the car, please read it before contacting me.
Local pickup only. If you want it shipped, you will need to work that out.
Sell or Trade
I bought it because it looks cool, but decided Mercedes are not really my bag.
I am not desperate to sell, just not too interested in it.
This is a 1965 Mercedes 190Dc, W110 chassis. It is a Diesel with a 4 speed manual on the column.
30,035 is on the odometer. I do not know if it is accurate.
It looks like an older restoration.
Runs and drives but needs rear brake shoes installed. A new set of shoes are included, but not installed yet.
Tires were new in Sept 2024. I have driven maybe 20-40 miles on them.
Brake booster replaced with rebuild one in Sep 2024 (this is per previous owner. It works as it should).
Fuel filter replaced in Sep 2024.
I replaced the rear light bulbs with LEDs and cleaned the connectors.
The bottoms of the doors have surface rust.
I replaced the glow plugs with stronger modern ones for driving, but the good original and connectors to go with the car. I also have a proper amperage relay to install.
I have replaced the drivers side turn signal lense and have replacement front turn signal housings.
Far from perfect, but in pretty good shape.
With a little work it can be kept as a survivor, or it can be restored.
The bad:
The rubber fuel lines that connects the metal nipple on the tank to the steel fuel line has a leak enough to cause wetness.
The trunk is solid, but the floors have been patched with metal. It is good enough for driving, but if restoring, it would need floor pans. It is solid in the structural points. Floor pans are available online for $300-$500 per complete side.
There are many years of of grease and crude accumulated on the differential and transmission housing. Before driving regularly, I would check the fluid levels, and lubricate everything.
It needs shifter bushings. The shifting is not smooth. I did this on my Met (the little green car). It is easy, and makes a huge difference.
Here is a list of things I am looking to trade for. Depending on value of trade, I will consider straight trade or trade + cash. I cannot add cash due to it tied up in renovating the old house behind the car.
1974 - 1981 Dodge Ramcharger, or Plymouth Trailduster (4x4)
1961-1965 (before the redesign in the spring) Dodge D series truck (4x4)
1976-1983 Jeep SJ Cherokee (4x4)
1984-1991 Jeep SJ Wagoneer (4x4)
1941-1986 Jeep MB or CJ (4x4)
1960-1980 IH Scout
2013 or newer Blue Subaru Legacy or Outback
1955-1974 VW Karmann Ghia
1959-1962 Metropolitan Series IV
1954-1957 Hillman Husky
Enclosed trailer 8' wide and 14' long or longer
Small tractor with loader or a Termite tractor
Towable manlift
If you have something else, let me know, worst I can say is no thank you.
In the condition it is in, I value it around $6,000. If you want to outright buy it, expect to pay close to that.
If you have a trade worth less, we can see what we can work out.
