Seller's Description
When on leave from combat (in this case, Belgium) every G.I. would get an opportunity to go into Paris for R & R for 72 hours. The subject of the drawing is the 2nd from the left in the photo. They dubbed themselves "The Paris-ites". The back of the photo gives the last names of all concerned, from the left, Lewis, Hegel, Bundy, and Bacon.
A self-drawn caricature of "Dimitri" is also offered in this lot. It may be my imagination, but I see a likeness of Hitler in his profile. Both drawings are preserved under glycene sheets and are about 8 x 10 inches in size.
