Seller's Description
This Fred Harvey PHOSTINT postcard is in wonderful condition, with the face telling us "one of the sheer walls on Hermit Rim Road". No writing and never mailed, this is card #80719 and image #H-1507. The corners show only a hint of wear and the face is clean and without tears and creases. The back is imprinted with:
"The most unique scenic highway in the world has been built from El Tovar Hotel and Bright Angel Camp westward to the head of Hermit Trail, a new trail down the south wall of the Canyon now being built. The distance from El Tovar is about nine miles; the road is constructed of crushed stone, thoroughly oiled; with a cinder base, it has been likened to a boulevard in the wilderness."
