"I, Abraham Wood of 55 Bridge Street, Ramsbottom, in the County of Lancaster, Jeweller, do hereby declare the nature of this invention to be as follows: My said invention relates to improvements to the manufacture of loom shuttles and in the mounting and supporting of the tongues thereof.  According to my invention I construct the shuttle form thin steel or from other sufficiently light, strong and malleable metal capable of being pressed..."
