Charles Reinwarth invented certain Improvements in Machines for Covering Piano-Strings, of which the following is a specification: His invention relates to machines for winding wire around the steel wires used for piano strings; and consists in devices for imparting l steady and uniform motion to the revolving jaws or holders, in which the opposite ends of the piano-strings are secured during the covering process.

The Shaw Piano was established in Erie, PA in 1890. In 1900, the famous Charles M. Stieff Piano Company purchased the Shaw Piano Company and moved their factories to Baltimore, MD. Shaw was known for building very high quality pianos, and they were sold along side Stieff pianos as an affordable alternative to the costlier Stieff brand while offering comparable quality. Stieff continued to be very successful during the â??teens and â??twenties, so firm decided to discontinue the Shaw name in about 1920.
These old piano, organ and musical instrument related advertising covers can be rare. I have found few traces of them available anywhere on the internet, so they can be difficult to track down and price.
I will start them at what I believe to be fair market value or less.
