"We, Leonard Metcalfe, Commercial Traveller, and Frederick Stretch, Licensed Victualler, both of Didsbury near Manchester in the County of Lancaster, do hereby declare the nature of this invention to be as follows: This invention relates to an improved system of insurance in connection with season tickets, and particularly against accident and death in connection with railway season tickets.  According to this invention, the insurers prepare the tickets, printing thereon the conditions of insurance and any other matter or particulars which may be desirable or necessary; stamping or otherwise marking or placing thereon any desired marks for identification and provision against forgery and imitation..."
