1809 Decision Lovell & Wm. Pennel of London, Andrew McMillan of Glasgow, vessel

"Messrs. Lovell and William Pennel, Merchants in London, and Attorney; against Andrew McMillan, Merchant in Glasgow...The pursuers, Messrs Lovell an Pennel, were owners of the ship Lovell, which was built in the year 1797.  In September 1800, she sailed on a voyage from England to Oporto, from thence to Newfoundland, and from thence to Demerara, where she was to take in a cargo of goods for Liverpool...On the 15th of April she sailed to join convoy, but took the ground in passing the bar.  She received no damage; but the captain and several of the crew being sick, it was judged expedient to put back to Demerara..."
