This listing is for (1x) seed pack containing 0.500g (Approximately 775 seeds) Non-GMO Melissa officinalis (Lemon Balm) seeds.Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis) is a sweetly lemon-mint scented plant that is easy to grow. The plants should be cut back when they begin to bloom to prevent self seeding. Lemon balm seeds require light to germinate and an average soil temperature of 70°F.
The leaves can be used in teas, mixed drinks, and salads. In traditional Austrian medicine, Lemon Balm leaves have been used to treat disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, nervous system, liver, and bile. Lemon Balm is the main ingredient in Carmelite water, which is still sold in German pharmacies. In alternative medicine Lemon Balm is used as a sleep aid and a digestive aid. Lemon Balm essential oil is popular in aromatherapy. It is commonly co-distilled with lemon oil, citronella oil, or other oils.
