My name is Mark, I'm 56 going on 60, and have 6 grand children. I'm disabled and photography is just about the only thing left that I can do, so anyone looking for any Sony/Minolta gear, check out my listings. I was formerly a tankie (tank regiment - army) for 14.5 years and left the service in 1989 just before the Berlin wall came down and the political changes that followed notwithwithstanding the conflicts in Iraq, Afghanistan and other ongoing hot-spots in the Middle-East and elsewhere.
I took my pseudo nickname Pirate! as I also have an interest about the history of piracy and the privateers of the late 17th to late 18th centuries at the height of the buccaneers. The flag I use is that of John 'Calico Jack' Rackham and is a genuine pirate flag which you may recall seeing it used on the Black Peal in Pirates of the Caribbean movies. So now you know.
I now live in Liverpool close to Liverpool 'John Lennon' Airport having moved from Christchurch, Dorset for medical reasons. I'm a long time member of the other major auction site as well as Amazon (UK) and generally buy/sell photographic equipment apart from other odd items.
I was a keen amateur photographer, and you'll find me on various camera/photography forums including Dyxum, PhotoclubAlpha and DPReview to name just a few. I formerly used both the Sony Alpha A100 and A700, but have since gone full frame with the Sony Alpha A850, so if there any other Sony/Minolta DSLR owners/users here, then please drop me a line. I'm often asked for general Sony/Minolta related advice. Aviation and motorsports photography are my favourite (having an airport so close does help), though I also dabble with portrait and macro, but I'll give anything a go. I have lens lust for Carl Zeiss (CZ or Zeiss) optics, but they're way out of my price range, but do have some very sought after lenses and hav the odd 'G' grade lens in the camera bag.
