Original & historic weekly News & Culture magazine - Almost Compete Year - 1919

Berliner Illustrirte Zeitung was a weekly, heavily illustrated magazine published from 1892 to 1945. Abbreviated to BIZ it was Germany's first mass-market magazine and became famous for its pioneering use of photography. 

BIZ became famous for its groundbreaking use of photography and this almost complete run from 1919, the first year of the Weimar Republic and the German revolution which saw often brutal street battles between communists and Freikorps and these issues contain many rare images from those tumultuous times.

Each of these issues has between eight pages and twelve pages and the numbers run consecutively so issue 1 has pages 1 to 8, issue 2 pages 9 to 16 and so on. The total number of pages for the complete year is 548

All of the pages have age-related yellowing and some issues have scuffs and small tears to the spines and page edges but generally given that they are 100 years old this collection is in pretty good condition.
