Seller's Description

Original German 33 inch x 46 inch Poster for the 1988 Charles Sturridge Drama A HANDFUL OF DUST, based on the novel by Evelyn Waugh and starring James Wilby, Kristin Scott Thomas, Rupert Graves, Anjelica Huston, Judi Dench, Alec Guinness, Stephen Fry and Graham Crowden.

The wife's affair and a death in the family hasten the demise of an upper-class English marriage.

Poster design by Richard Bird (1948 - 1993). Born in Kenya in 1948 Bird studied at the Brighton College of Art in 1968 and in the mid-1980s he set up his own consultancy, taking on a wide variety of work for film and theatre. Among the posters he produced for the cinema were Jack Clayton's The Passion of Judith Hearne, John Schlesinger's The Falcon and the Snowman and Charles Sturridge's A Handful of Dust.

The poster is in fine folded condition.
