• General Comments: Galveston and Galveston Island are just to the SE of Houston, TX, on the coast. Definitely worth a visit to get of overwhelming modern Houston and into the past. It has a great range of antique shops, restaurants, cafes, and a really nice beach. Of course, it was very different back in 1900 when a hurricane destroyed two thirds of the buildings. Fortunately, protections have been put in please since. This booklet covers events, local trivia, restaurants, shopping, maps, attractions, amusements, real estate and accommodation. If you are in the area definitely drop in at the railroad museum. The booklet covers the surrounding area too so you can take in the amazing Lone Star Flight Museum. Moody Mansion museum etc.
• The leaflet might be of interest to anyone wanting to study what businesses/tourism were around in 2007. Could also be useful for anyone who visited the area back in 2007 who wants to identify some photos of scenes or events.
