Seller's Description

Card #8012, made in Germany, and published by The Puget Sound News Company, Seattle. Messaged and mailed May 11, 1911 by J. M. Huber of Seattle.

The face of this litho-photo says it is image #7390 and copyrighted by W. P. Romans. On the upper margin is the following: "U. S. Battleship 'Nebraska', built by Moran Bros. Co. Seattle, Wash. Keel laid July 4th, 1902, accepted by the U. S. Government July 18th, 1906."

After shakedown and alterations, the new battleship joined the "Great White Fleet" at San Francisco after 6 May 1908. In accordance with the Washington Treaty limiting naval armament, Nebraska was rendered incapable of further warlike service 9 November 1923 and sold for scrap a few weeks later.

No tears or creasing in this fine looking print. Light corner wear; sharp edges and moderate soiling.
