BSW
(Whitworth) engineers
engineering studs. A choice of plain unplated or bright zinc plated.
British Standard BS 1083.
Manufactured by B & C. Made in England, so a very good quality.
Where I have stock that is rusty, this is noted when you select the
size, it will say 'very rusty' after the size.
Engineers
studs are forged steel with a rolled thread. Most have a very small
unthreaded shoulder, as pictured. One size has a large shoulder, see
further info below. They have the same thread either end.
1/4" BSW are 20tpi.
5/16" BSW are 18tpi.
3/8" BSW are 16tpi.
7/16" BSW are 14tpi.
1/4" x 1.1/4" - the plain shoulder is 1/8". Threaded ends are 1/4" and 7/8" long.
1/4" x 2" - the plain shoulder is 1/8". Threaded ends are 1/4" and 1.5/8" long.
1/4" x 3" - the plain shoulder is 1/8". Threaded ends are 1/4" and 2.5/8" long.
5/16" x 1.3/4" - the plain shoulder is 3/16". Threaded ends are 5/16" and 1.1/4" long.
5/16" x 2" - the plain shoulder is 3/16". Threaded ends are 5/16" and 1.1/2" long.
5/16" x 2.5/8" - the plain shoulder is 1.1/2". Threaded ends are 1/2" and 5/8" long.
5/16" x 2.3/4" - the plain shoulder is 3/16". Threaded ends are 5/16" and 2.1/4" long.
5/16" x 3.1/2" - the plain shoulder is 3/16". Threaded ends are 5/16" and 2.1/2" long.
3/8" x 1.1/2" - the plain shoulder is 1/4". Threaded ends are 3/8" and 7/8" long.
3/8" x 2.1/4" - the plain shoulder is 3/16". Threaded ends are 5/16" and 1.3/4" long.
