RA2 This is a beautiful undated but modern published official postcard from Londons Royal Academy Of Arts for this historic statuette by William Reid Dick called The Child from 1927 with artist details, dates, dimensions etc & Royal Academy Of Arts logo on reverse being the official souvenir from when exhibited unused and mint.
Although perhaps best known for monumental architectural sculptures, memorials and official portraits, William Reid Dicks imaginative sculptural compositions ran parallel with public commissions throughout his career. He exhibited his Diploma work The Child at the Royal Academy in 1929 two years after exhibiting another statuette of the same title. The statuette emerged as a popular and accessible form of sculpture in the late nineteenth century.
