Uncanny X-Men (Vol 1) #334

Title: Onslaught, Dark Horizon
Plot: Juggernaut swims in the lake near Cyclopsâ?? and Phoenixâ??s home. He is waiting for them to return home. He triggers an alarm in the mansion. Back at the mansion Bishop and Gambit to go check out the alarm. They confront Juggernaut and are quickly beaten by him. Cyclopsâ?? Danger Room training session is interrupted by a frightened Phoenix who just had an encounter with Onslaught on the psionic plane. As time goes by, her memory of the event dims, but she remembers Onslaught asking her to join him. Later, Phoenix returns home only to find Gambit and Bishop dumped on her front porch by Juggernaut who convinces her he came here to help. He claims to have the secret of Onslaught locked in his head and he says he needs her help to unlock it. Phoenix takes Juggernaut on a long walk to the bottom levels of the mansion. She takes him to a psi-shielded chamber so they can discover the answer of the question: Who is Onslaught? Meanwhile, Xavier meets with Sam in his study. Sam is feeling ineffective as a member of the X-Men team and is thinking about quitting. Xavier basically tells him to quit his whining and either leave or get back to work. In the infirmary, the Dark Beast examines Wolverine while Storm and Iceman look on. Beast tells Wolverine he needs to run more tests, and Wolverine gets of the table and runs away in anger saying he has other resources. Storm decides to go after Wolverine but ends up talking to Cannonball about the Professorâ??s behavior. Xavier summons Scott to a meeting in the War room. Xavier tells Scott that he is disappointed with him on many different levels. Then he tells Scott he needs him to be strong for all of them. When Scott reaches out to touch Xavier he discovers that he has been talking to a holographic projection. Scott tries to find Xavier through the computer only to be told that Xavier is in his study where he has been for the past 48 hours. Cyclops comes to the conclusion that he was undergoing some sort of test to teach him to be prepared for anything. In Colorado, Archangel and Psylocke try to contact the mansion. Neither of them is successful so they decide on a trip to Westchester. In New Hampshire, Creed meets with Bastion after he finishes a speaking engagement. Bastion wonders to himself what his supporters would do if they knew Creeds parents were Mystique and Sabretooth. Bastion tells Creed he has a great plan, and Creed should count himself lucky that Senator Kelly survived the assassination attempt.

We do not list ANY comics as Mint condition. In our view this grade does not exist. Comic books are mass produced paper items, handled many times often with little care before even reaching the shop or newsstand to be offered for sale. EVERY COMIC even a brand new one will have some form of minor defect if you get out a magnifying glass and look closely enough.
If you are intent on finding comic book perfection, or CGC guaranteed results, it would probably be best to view the comics in person at our store before bidding!
It is an unfortunate truth that the established back issue grading system is misleading to new comers. Both Good & Fair are low grades. For this reason we have provided the chart below. If you are unsure what to expect from grades like VFN+ and G-, just refer to the chart. All you need to remember is that 100% is brand new while 5% has been through the washing machine. Everything else comes in steps between.
The best way to use this chart is to think of it as top middle and bottom. This enables even a layman to visualise the condition of the comic.
Near Mint (NM) = 100% As new. High grade comic.
Near Mint Minus (NM-) 90% Almost perfect. High grade comic.
Very Fine Plus (VFN+) = 80% Almost perfect. High grade comic appearing Near mint at first glance but with one or two minor flaws upon closer inspection.
Very Fine (VFN) = 75% High to Mid grade comic. Appearing almost Near Mint at first glance but with two to three minor flaws upon closer inspection.
Very Fine Minus (VFN-) = 70% High to Mid grade comic. Nice condition comic with slight signs of very minor wear.
Middle Minor damage & wear apparent but still sound comics
Fine Plus (FN+) = 65% Mid grade comic. Several signs of wear and age apparent at first glance. May include slight spine wear or minor creases, but still retains good eye appeal.
Fine (FN) = 60% Mid grade comic. Several signs of wear and age apparent at first glance. May include slight spine wear or minor creases, but still retains good eye appeal. Sound mid grade book.
Fine Minus (FN-) = 50% Mid grade comic. Some age and wear apparent at first glance including minor creases, small nicks or evidence of label removal.
Very Good Plus (VG+) = 40% Mid to Lower grade comic showing showing some evidence of having been used without much care. Defects apparent include spine wear and fairly minor creases. Still sound.
Very Good (VG) = 35% Mid to Low grade comic exhibiting quite a few defects, though still complete and sound.
Bottom Beaten damaged worn and abused comics
Very Good Minus (VG-) = 30% Lower grade comic. Various defects apparent including tears, nicks, loose staples or creases.
Good Plus (G+) = 25% Low grade comic. Various defects apparent including tears, nicks, loose staples or creases.
Good (G) = 20% Low grade used comic. Various defects apparent including tears, nicks, loose staples creases or small pieces missing.
Good Minus (G-) = 15% Low grade used comic. Heavily worn comic.
Fair (Fair) = 10% Worn and battered low grade used comic. Heavily worn comic.
Poor (Poor) = 5% Worn and battered low grade used comic. Very heavily worn comic.
