• Condition: Used with some scrapes on edges and spine. There is a pencil mark of an “8” inside the front cover, but  marks of damage inside. Examine images very carefully to see what you will be getting and compare these to any images you may find of this book elsewhere.
• General Comments: I wonder how many young readers were inspired by this book to eventually  join the Royal Navy? The pictures were by John Berry. This book starts off with marks of rank, cap badges, ratings badges, Inside the book you get to see Radar work, Seacat and Seaslug missiles, submarine warfare, aircraft carriers and assault ships, refuelling from the auxiliary fleet, deep sea diving, and finally hammocks. Inside the back cover there is a display of medals. This would be an appropriate book for Ladybird Book collectors or perhaps as a present for someone either about to join the Royal Navy or as a retirement present for someone about to leave.
