Jazz, the pure stuff where you know the tune, but you don't play it, you play around it -- doodle-de-boppa boppa-da-pao-pao. But you've never really been able to sound like the jazz greats? Well, here are the notes all written down in eighths and sixteenths. What fun. You really need to be closer to the advanced end of intermediate before you tackle this one. If you have longed to play "real jazz", but just haven't found your groove, here's a book that'll make you sound like you "get it". Still gotta practice though. If you're going to play these,, probably gotta practice a lot. How can you tell if you're ready for this book? If you can play Zez Confrey's Dizzy Fingers up to speed, you can do this stuff, but it'll take determination and work. If you're already a jazz player who "hears it in your head" you don't need this book. Or maybe you do, in the same way that painters need to copy old masters in order to figure out their techniques.
