John Hinde was an English photographer who set up John Hinde Ltd in Dublin, Ireland in the early 1960s. He produced most of the earlier cards himself before employing other photogaphers such as E.Nägele, E. Ludwig, D. Noble and other names who spent a long time getting just the right view, usually with people in the foreground. The prints were then artistically hand processed and manipulated in Italy (long before digital production) before being published. His company was also closely associated with Butlins and they produced many of their cards. The company’s cards have become popular with collectors in recent years due to exhibitions and being featured in books, particularly by photographer and postcard collector Martin Parr. They were influential in the development of commercial photography and postcard images and now are regarded as miniature works of art and social records in themselves, particularly those of the 1960s and 1970s.

Text from the free encyclopedia WIKIPEDIA may appear below to give a little background information:

*************

St Just in Roseland (Cornish: Lannsiek) civil parish and village in Cornwall, England, in the United Kingdom: it is known for its picturesque churchyard.

St Just in Roseland should not be confused with the larger settlement of St Just in Penwith which is situated in the extreme west of Cornwall.

Located just north of St. Mawes, St. Just in Roseland is famous for its picturesque 13th century church, set in magnificent riverside gardens luxuriantly planted with semitropical shrubs and trees, many of which are species rare in England. The church perches on the edge of the tidal creek of the Percuil River, with numerous paths leading from the churchyard onto the coastal footpath which continues around the headland, through some National Trust lands to St Mawes. This is a walk of approximately two miles.

The church is situated just outside the main village, with a small side road, taking the visitor down the hillside toward the church gates. There is a small carpark and limited parking along the side of the road by the church gate.

The path from the road to the Church is lined with granite blocks carved with quotations and verses taken from the Bible. Because the slope is so steep, as visitors stand at the lych-gate on the road, looking down to the Church, they will find themselves looking down on the church tower.
