This listing is for a kit form Single Ended Class A Stereo Amplifier based on ECC83/12AX7 preamp and Shuguang EL34-B output valves (which are included), but may easily be adapted to use output valves such as 6V6 or 6L6.
The kit includes the electronic components, PCB, sockets, 1 x ECC83/12AX7 and 2 x EL34 output valves, but does not include power or output transformers. The assembled amplifier PCB is pictured here for illustrative purposes only as the kit will require assembly.
This amplifier will drive 4 Ohm or 8 Ohm speakers with a suitable pair of output transformers (not included, contact us if you wish us to order in suitable transformers for you) and requires a 1V audio input signal for full output power. It may be connected in Ultra Linear mode using a transformer with a suitable tap. Basic assembly instructions included but this kit does require extensive soldering and some high voltage testing and is only suitable for the experienced constructor. As a kit, the build quality is very much under your control and due care should be taken to ensure safe solid mains supply and HT wiring and suitable fuses should always be incorporated in the live mains and HT+ supply lines. This amplifier must also be earthed for safety. This amplifier will when completed require a power supply with an HT output of between around 200V and 320V DC at 100mA and a heater supply of 6.3V further power supply details or schematics are given as this is a module designed to be used by an experienced constructor who can make such a supply or retro fit it to an existing radiogram etc. Other Valve Amplifier Turret Boards built and fitted with components, including your own custom designs, are also available - contact us for details and a quotation.
