Original French 12 1/4 inch x 8 3/4 inch 8 Page Illustrated Pressbook for the 1928 Harry d'Abbadie d'Arrast Romantic Drama SERENADE (LA MADONE DES SLEEPINGS) starring Adolphe Menjou, Kathryn Carver, Lawrence Grant, Lina Basquette and Martha Franklin.

Comedy of a composer and his wife, who hits a sour note when she is given competition by his operetta’s leading lady.

Cover art by David Olère (1902 - 1985). A Polish-born French painter and sculptor. Olère studied at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, and upon completion of his studies there at the age of 16, moved to Danzig and later Berlin, where he exhibited woodcuts at museums and art houses. In 1921 he was hired by Ernst Lubitsch at the Europäische Film Allianz to work as a set builder for the film Das Weib des Pharao. Olère also lived in Munich and Heidelberg before moving to Paris in 1923 and settling in Montparnasse, where he designed costumes and publicity posters for Paramount Pictures.

The pressbook is in very good condition with minor wear along the spine.
