Original 10 inch x 8 inch Portrait of YVONNE MITCHELL in the 1959 Basil Dearden Thriller SAPPHIRE.
The murder of a young woman in London exposes deep racial tensions and prejudices inherent in the area.
Text attached to reverse: YVONNE MITCHELL is one of England’s celebrated younger actresses. She won international acclaim for her role in “Woman In A Dressing Gown”.
She will next be seen in “SAPPHIRE”.
”SAPPHIRE”, an original story by Janet Green, is produced by Michael Relph and directed by Basil Dearden in Eastman Colour for the Rank Organisation. Nigel Patrick, Yvonne Mitchell, Michael Craig, Paul Massie and Bernard Miles co-star.

Portrait by Cornel Lucas. Born in 1923 Lucas was a world-renowned Rank Studios photographer known for his legendary black-and-white portraits of stars including Joan Collins, Brigitte Bardot, Lauren Bacall, Marlene Dietrich, Katharine Hepburn and Diana Dors, among many others.
The portrait is in very good condition with minor surface marks.
