On August 8, 1991 Class 60 No.60056 William Beveridge was pictured powering its loaded RMC train from Peak Forest to Buxworth. This locomotive is now owned by Trainload Freight North East and based at Immingham in loco pool FDAI.  

- News:  As the rail strike continues, Railtrack South offers free Eurostar tickets to strike-breaking supervisors; no action taken against runaway train driver; Dover Western Docks station to close later this month; British Rail's Special Trains unit announces autumn luxury excursion programme; Sir Alf Ramsey honoured at Ipswich; Ilford Level 5 depot customises Class 08 No.08527; Railtrack starts work on platform repairs at Portsmouth Harbour; how to recognise a 'Sprinter' with a defective autocoupler; future assured for celebrity Wickham DMU.

- Freight Facts:  Moving black mountains:  Paul Shannon examines the changing patterns of coal traffic to power stations at locations in the West Midlands and in North West England.

- Crewe is now International:  John Stretton talks to Dave Spillets, who is responsible for the operation of Railfreight Distribution's international traction depot at Crewe.

- Class 37s Over the Top:  ScotRail's Highland Main Line from Perth to Inverness is laced with spectacular scenery, which is enhanced by regular loco-hauled trains.

- Traction News:  There are dramatic changes on the horizon for Britain's railway with the impending sell-offs and privatisations. All is not doom and gloom, however, RfD has secured a contract to move Vauxhall cars form Luton to Bathgate. On July 4 Class 47/2 No.47241 from RfD's Automotive pool was pictured at Acton with the 4S48 service bound for Bathgate. This locomotive has since been named The Silcock Express.
