- The Fall and Rise of the 50s:  All good things come to an end and March 26, 1994 marked the finale for the Class 50s, which originally entered service with BR under a lease agreement from English Electric in 1967/8. The Class has had a rather extended indian summer in recent years, courtesy of Laira Depot, RAIL, Pathfinder Tours and Locomaster Profiles, with Nos.D400(50050), 50007 and 50033 remaining in capital stock - for special trains - way beyond their planned withdrawal date. With No.50033 ensconced at the NRM York, awaiting an official handover, No.50050, restored to large logo livery and carrying Fearless nameplates pilots No.50007 Sir Edward Elgar on March 26 with 'The 50 Terminator' railtour, pictured passing Vauxhall en-route from London Waterloo to London Paddington via Penzance. - News:  HST power car named InterCity; 30 passengers injured in Newton Abbot smash; more jobs to go at ABB Derby; delays in franchising-off the railway; Nene Valley Railway naming for Class 31 No.31558; Crewe Electric depot gets its first Class 92; refurbished Glasgow Underground car in service; naming and high speed run for SouthCentral's Class 319s; EPS ticket system; Sheffield Supertram service starts; Anglia TOU to name local trains and July start for Eurostar services.

- The Human Revolution:  There are more nightmares on the menu as Dick Hardy recalls the introduction of North British locomotives at Stratford depot, however, the depot did have some good Brush Type 2 and EE Type 4 power.
