RA6  This is a beautiful undated but modern published official postcard from Londons Royal Academy Of Arts for this historic drawing of Michelangelo Buonarroti and his work The Virgin & Child With The Infant & John from 1504 with artist details, dates, dimensions etc & Royal Academy Of Arts logo on reverse being the official souvenir from when exhibited unused and mint. 

The Lawrence Gallery is a series of reproductions of drawings attributed to Raphael and Michelangelo. Printed in 1841 and 1843, and subsequently bound together, this large volume represents a small selection of Sir Thomas Lawrences collection of drawings. The Woodburns kept the drawings of Raphael and Michelangelo until they published the Lawrence Gallery as a sale catalogue to promote the last and most exquisite drawings of Sir Lawrences collection. After a prolonged period of sales from 1840 to 1845 the Woodburns sold some of the Raphael drawings to the Museum of Oxford University at the price of £7,000. The Louvre, the Frankfurt Museums, and the Grand Duke of Saxe-Weimar acquired the remaining Michelangelos. The Lawrence Gallery is not only an invaluable testimony of Sir Thomas Lawrences passion for collecting but it is also a tool to explore the artists production process via his models and influences.
