London Buses – Map and List of Routes (1981 No. 1)

• Size: 18cm tall x 9cm wide x 9mm thick when folded or 53cm tall x 62cm wide when unfolded
• Weight: 40 g
• Condition: Although in a bad state of repair, this map has character to it! Sellotape has been placed over each edges and folds to strengthen these. The map has been heavily used and has probably gotten damp in the rain at some point before being dried out. One part of the map has a hole in it and some Sellotape is peeling off – but can be replaced where needed. See images for present condition.
• General Comments: In 1981 this was what you needed to navigate the streets of London by bus! It doesn’t have the bus times (well they were rarely on time anyway), but does list the route for the 300+ individual bus numbers listed. There is a central London map and a greater London map. Rail and tube stations are shown. Would be useful for a film prop  or to use in an art collage or just by anyone curious about the history of bus routes in the past.
