Spenser is back and embroiled in a deceptively dangerous and multi-layered case: someone has been killing racehorses at stables across the south, and the Boston P.I. travels to Georgia to protect the two-year old destined to become the next Secretariat.

When Spenser is approached by Walter Clive, president of the Three Fillies Stables, to find out who is threatening his horse Hugger Mugger, he can hardly say no: he's been doing pro bono work for so long his cupboards are just about bare. Disregarding the resentment of the local Georgia law enforcement, Spenser takes the case. Though Clive has hired a separate security firm, he wants someone with Spenser's experience to supervise the operation.

Despite the veneer of civility, Spenser encounters tensions beneath the surface southern gentility. The case takes an even more deadly turn when the attacker claims a human victim, and Spenser must revise his impressions of the Three Fillies organization- and watch his own back as well.

By bidding buyer acknowledges and agrees that he/she knows that the item being bought is a non-working and or broken item. Buyer fully understands that the item is broken and that he/she has the ability and desire to fix the item. We only recommend bidding if you are skilled in the repair of the item. We disclose all information we are able to get from testing the unit although the faults that we find may not be all inclusive. We obviously can not test a drum in a printer when the power supply has gone out. There may be more or less problems then we list, but we will list all we observe.

Return Terms:

Shipping Damage Terms:
  • Seller will file a shipping claim(s) upon behalf of the buyer with common carrier in the event shipment(s) is/are damaged during shipping, in most cases at our discretion.
  • Not retaining the original box and packaging may affect the carriers decision on a claim.
  • Seller will commence filing the claim once buyer has filed the damage report with the seller.
  • Buyer must notify seller within 48 hours of receipt of a damaged shipment.
