The Confessions of St. Augustine was written by Saint Augustine of Hippo around AD 398, and is Saint Augustine’s autobiography, originally written in 13 books. The works detail Augustin’s rise from sin and conversion to Christianity, and was written in his 40s. Augustine lived long beyond his 40s and went on to write City of God. The Confessions of St. Augustine is the most complete record of an individual from the 4th and 5th centuries.
