RA* This is a beautiful undated but modern published official postcard from Londons Royal Academy Of Arts for this historic painting by Benjamin Haydon called Bones Of The Human Arm from 1805 with artist details, dates, dimensions etc & Royal Academy Of Arts logo on reverse being the official souvenir from when exhibited unused and mint.
Benjamin Robert Haydon considered anatomy to be the lynchpin of an artist's training. This dramatic drawing is dated 29th May 1805 and was carried out in Plymouth when the artist returned to his home town to visit his ailing father. Haydon 'got bones and muscles from the surgeon of the hospital, and was hard at work that very night'. He later mounted his anatomical studies in an album to use as a teaching aid.
