Agate Nodule Polished Slice: Fine Banding, Dendrites, Spherulites, Iris and More

Gorgeous, prime center slice from a Brazilian agate nodule with a fascinating array of features. This polished display piece has very fine banding which beautifully displays the fibrous nature of this type, with patterning that shifts into focus as you turn the piece against strong backlighting. Around the outer edge are spherulites (bubble-like formations) which give off iris effects at certain angles. There may be other iris/rainbow effects in other banding, but the piece may be slightly too thick to display them well - you'll have fun looking against various light sources. The center of this geode had a tiny hollow lined with small crystals (druzy). The blue-gray holding agate also includes a couple of veils with interesting black dendrites (branched formations resembling tiny trees or shrubs). A very nice display piece which will look great on your a table or window sill where it can also be seen against backlighting.

A display stand is included. Photos were taken in direct natural sunlight and show the specimen dry.
