A Smartly Dressed Couple in Iquique, c.1880 - Luis Novaro Photograph

Sepia studio photograph of an anonymous gentleman and lady, possibly Robert Harvey of Truro, Cornwall, later knighted and the High Sheriff of Cornwall, and his wife Alida María Godefroy who were known to be at Iquique in Chile in the 1880s and 1890s in concern with the nitrate trade, and were married there in 1881. The couple in the photo do bear some resemblance to Robert and Alida, but I can't be certain.

Photographed by Luis Novaro y Ca, Calle de Lima 60, Iquique, not numbered, with a couple of purple cachets of E. Liddicoat to the back, c.1890.

Fair condition, with large heavy crease to top right and lighter creases to bottom left corner and bottom centre, also a puncture to the centre right bottom. Corners are rounded.
