Fony - Circles (2003) CD & Rear Inlay only. No case. Good.

Fony's follow up to their debut album "routine Irregular" leaves nothing to be desired. It holds the same class and lack of definition as the first album but the progression made is clear.
"Circles" opens majestically with "A Satire for the World" with an intro to rival many recent albums. This is by no means the best part of the album. Songs like "Emeritus" and "Nefer" flow with chemical riffs that reek of experimentation. If you are looking for seriously heavy metal, you're not quite there, but the riffs you hear throughout this album all set in your head like concrete.
"Helium" brings you down to earth with some enjoyable melody, which is made more so in comparison to "Fuc*ing the Sentiment" which allows for some serious mosh time. The album moves in stages all the way, the song titled "Circles" is nothing but pure brilliance as it could quite easily be my favourite song off the album. "Wishlist, End" is beautiful and is as good a finish as "Makeshift" from the first album.
The highlight of "Circles" for me has to be Track 3 "Black Widows And Film Noir" its almost progressive in genre and does so in sublime fashion, with awsome riffs and a guitar part that makes you feel as if you have come to the end of some epic journey, truely brilliant.
