SCOTTISH WILD HAIRY HAGGIS 10" PLUSH TOY

Meet Haggis – this wee furry fellow is a wild hairy Haggis from the moors of the Western Isles of bonnie Scotland. This cute critter is descended from the famed wild Hebridean Haggis of Scottish folklore. These shy, rare creatures are legendary in Scotland and beyond and many flock to the Scottish Highlands and Islands to try to catch a glimpse of these mysterious furry friends. Sightings of the Haggis are as rare as fairies or Nessie but these magical wee cuties are said to often be found hiding among heathers and peat bogs. Some have two legs shorter than the others to help them run along hills and they are said to very shy and wary little beasties. For centuries past they were kept as pets by those that lived on the land in the Highlands but as these people moved to towns their beloved Haggis were not happy and would not eat or drink – they would only drink the peaty bog water of their ancestral home and would nibble solely on lush heather and so the practice of keeping Haggis as pets declined and they are now it is said they are only seen in the blink of an eye or in the movement of grass upon Scottish wild lands. You may tell a Haggis has frequented the area by neat nibble marks on Heather or if you are lucky enough you may even find a strand or two of the wild Haggis hair caught on a prickle or carried on the Hebridean  breeze

With the help of rare photos and claimed sightings of some supposed “real” wild Haggis we have created a beautiful plush pet Haggis which is not dependent on Scottish heather or peaty bog waters. Our little 10” furry friends just need care and cuddles – and perhaps the occasional brush of that rather shaggy hair.
