Great *RARE* vintage 1ST US EDITION hardback book from 1990 by Arthur C Danto on art in the historical present. Published in the USA. Photo 19 shows numbers in pencil and pen on the inside cover. Binding and other pages inside are in great condition especially as the book is 35 years old.
In Encounters and Reflections, Danto broadens the debate on painting and sculpture in the late eighties to include not only major points on the map but also current assumptions about great masters. This work reveals an inspiring thinker at the peak of his powers.
