"I, William Harding Scott, of Gothic Works, Hardy Road, Norwich, in the County of Norfolk, Engineer, do hereby declare the nature of this invention to be as follows: My invention relates to controllers for electric motors in driving machinery and has for its object to provide efficient means for obtaining a creeping speed on starting (such as is required, for instance, in the case of newspaper printing machinery) and to prevent tendency to overrun after starting..."
