Interactive Entertainment and with an all-new, exciting prequel storyline, Batman: Arkham Origins for the PlayStation 3 (PS3) platform is set some years before the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City, the original two video games in this critically-acclaimed series. Play as a young, somewhat unrefined Bruce Wayne in his early days as Batman, with a cinematic score and an engaging single-player story written by Dooma Wendschuh and Corey May -- both known for their work on Assassin’s Creed, Prince of Persia, and other hit games. Establish connections throughout the game with iconic characters from the Batman universe, including then-Captain Jim Gordon, who leads the police pursuit of Batman, while facing off in some of Batman’s first encounters against the city’s most notorious super villains, including The Joker, Black Mask, Deathstroke and others. Inspect crime scenes like never before with a sophisticated Crime Scene system. Check for clues, track criminals, and digitally recreate crime scenes in the series’ most detailed Detective mode yet. Roam one of the widest, most open renditions of the original, Christmastime Gotham City on the PS3, with everything the way it was before Batman: Arkham Asylum. Grapple between buildings, glide across chasms, and use the Batwing to ’teleport’ to activated areas. A living, breathing environment with new areas, iconic locations and crimes in progress to tackle, veer Batman off the beaten track to explore different parts of the map. Find plenty of side missions to develop the Dark Knight while chasing down minor or peripheral villains. Come up against more challenging enemies than in the other games, many with enhanced combat skills, including the Martial Artist and Armored Enforcer types, included in the game to encourage quick, strategic action and FreeFlow combat proficiency. Spend XP points as the story unfolds on kitting out Batman in upgraded armor and teaching him new attacks. Also, build on Batman’s already impressive arsenal, as featured in the series’ other games, with all-new unlockable gadgets and other content exclusive to Batman: Arkham Origins. New items include the Remote Claw, a tool to bind enemies to environmental objects and each other. Play against friends for the first time ever in Batman: Arkham Origins on the PS3, with online multiplayer capability for up to eight players. Play through a range of death match game modes to pitch players up against each other in a 2 vs. 3 vs. 3 setup, as either Batman and Robin, Bane and his foot soldiers, or The Joker with his henchmen. Graphically spectacular, Batman: Arkham Origins is characterized by its contrasting light levels and black shadows, making for an atmospheric gameplay experience.
