eBid did (I haven't checked for ages) only upload your products to your google home site, so US,UK, & Canadian ones are all different,
I don't think they do the other countries at all.
UK, US and Germany. You can only list items on one of those sites in the language and currency of the site - so eBid will only upload to the UK site.

Thank you both. I stupidly assumed that ebid being a global site, and google likewise, that it wouldn't matter that I always use google.com as a launch place. Listing them by country is stupid - it makes no allowance for global markets. But I'm much obliged to you both for letting me know. Hope they get the DIY load fixed soon, I shall definitely opt out now I know the manual version is so limited.

Are you saying that Google will stop me from loading to US and UK even if I do it manually?

Was that a typo? It seems contradictory.

Even if you opt out of automatic upload by eBid you will have to create three feeds - one each for UK, US and Germany - for the reasons in my previous post.

P.S. We are talking across each other.

Sorry I thought they'd added Canada , but I see it's still missing, bit like Google Checkout not universally available.

You can do manual uploads to the thre available sites as long as each set of uploads fulfills the criteria.

Yes, sorry, as you say - a typo and a cross-chat. I've found the relevant page myself now that gives the details of what you're referring to:

Google Base is available for the United States, the United Kingdom, and Germany. There are specific language and currency requirements for each. The below requirements apply to both the website and the data feed:
    • Google Base US
      - Items must be listed in English.
      - Product prices must be listed in US dollars.
      - Products must be shippable throughout the continental US.
    • Google Base UK
      - Items must be listed in English.
      - Product prices must be listed in pounds sterling and must include VAT.
      - Products must be shippable throughout the mainland UK.
    • Google Base Germany
      - Items must be listed in German.
      - Product prices must be listed in euros and must include VAT.
      - Products must be shippable throughout Germany.

You may submit to a country other than the one you are located in as long as you:
    • Meet the above criteria
    • Ensure your items are relevant to or can be shipped to users in that country
    • Select the appropriate target country when registering your feed

So, as you say, I'd have to do a second version for US (I think I'll skip the German translation unless Meebo's really bored )

But... if I made a US version of the data file, with converted prices, and linked to the us ebid site - are ebid going to get into trouble for duplicates again? And my converted prices probably wouldn't exactly match the listing using ebid's exchange rate... it all sounds like it could turn into a pig's ear all too easily.

I guess Google products just isn't very International.

Totally off the point I know, but 18 countries out of about 195 is hardly global is it We only cover about a quarter of the EU at the moment
