    Default Ebid in French???

    Hello,
Does anyone know when ebid will be translated to French??
I read in the last newsletter that this was going to happen soon and this is a huge new market open to ebid sellers to France,Belgium and Switzerland!
I have already put bilingual descriptions and I am offering this to ebid sellers:

........With a low $ and £sterling now compared to the euro have you thought about expanding your sales to french speaking europe (France,Belgium,Switzerland)?
I am sure there is lots of sales waiting for you there and even ebay are now recommending this on the home page of those countries.
I am British but have lived most of my life in France and am early-retired from a top direct mail position in a large international mail order company and so totally bilingual.
I am very familiar with online auction site sales having sold approx 20 000 items there myself in the last few years.
With this experience I am now looking to assist, for a very reasonable fee and no necessary long term engagement, a dozen of US and UK online sellers with their sales to europe.
This could include add translations, response to your customer enquiries and even response to phone calls to a french number which definately reassures buyers!
Please get in touch if more info needed, you can contact me at dwr1956 at yahoo.com.
Hope to hear from you soon.

At the moment I'm afraid eBid is not a global site, and is not available to Belgium, or Switzerland.

Default ebid is available in France!!

However pages are in English so no one in France understands how to register or don't feel in confidence.
I have over 10 000 actif customers there I keep trying to bring to ebid without any succes.
In the last ebid newsletter it did say changes/translations were planned and I think they should move fast as seems auctivacommerce I going also to translate their pages.
    Rgds.

We are currently about 3 weeks into our French translation program and envisage around another 2 before we are done fully.

You will start to see parts of the site metamorphasising into French starting Wednesday this week.

    Thanks,
    Gazza

This is probably a silly question, but will the site still be available in English for those of us who are not multi-lingual?

Not the English parts I hope. I don't speak or understand French ( I couldn't even tell you where my Aunty's pen is).

Not really that good with English even.

I would expect the french only being visible when you sign in via the french flag

Wahoo!!! Brilliant! Now that is good news and France is to be first!!
I will look forward to Wednesday and seeing the initial changes. Will have lots of work to do though as have stopped bothering to put my listings in both French and English as there seemed little point when the French could not find their way around the eBid site.
