Thread: Does 2nd Class postage put you off buying

I now use "economique" (2nd class) following the latest increases from La Poste as first class is just ridiculously expensive for small items and things seem to arrive as quickly whichever rate I use! This is stated on my listing and I suggest that if people would like first class then to ask for a quote via Q&A.

I give buyers the choice, mostly 2nd is chosen.
Think what matters most is how quick seller sends goods out , not much point paying for 1st class if seller only posts once a week.

    "economique"

I love that! Sounds a little classier than 2nd Class.
I reckon Royal Mail ought to adopt that.

This is very interesting. I've always used first class, and always found that customers are appreciative of quick delivery. Seems I'm wrong (well, that can happen a lot)

I didn't know you could offer both on here. I'll have to try that and see which is most popular, especially as the cost is increasing again soon.

I always use second class, and still get a lot of praise for fast delivery - quick shipping seems to be the crucial bit. I've never found 2nd to be significantly slower that 1st.

As a buyer I never worry about the service used, unless I'm in a real hurry - and then I'd contact the seller before bidding to see how fast they could get it to me, since the service used doesn't tell you anything, you need to know when they post.

If you put stamps on for 2nd class it often arrives next day.

Hello everyone. I don't offer a "second class service"............
It's either air or land shipping, and you always get "First Class Service" from me!

    Yesturday I posted 8 items.
    4 first
    3 2nd
    1 stanard parcels

    all arrived today

So no 2nd class does not put me off, I normally list with both 1st & 2nd class prices except the charity auctions

I always send first class, saving are only going to be pence anyway so I would have thought it was insignificant unless it's a really cheap and heavy item.
