Exclamation help- first sale, PayPal e-mail change

    hi everyone,

i just sold my first item after a year of listings on ebid! i haven't checked my listings regularly due to the severe lack of activity, so i didn't notice it until today, 6 days after the buyer purchased it (ack!). i just e-mailed the buyer with apologies, and checked the send invoice option.

the after auction log shows the following message:

"Card Authorised The payment is pending because it was made to an email address that is not yet registered or confirmed."

i forgot i had changed my e-mail address in my PayPal account, so i just changed it in my ebid account. however, even after logging out and back in, the after auction log still shows the same message. does it take a day or two to become confirmed in the system?

    i am a seller+ lifetime account.

please reply quickly if possible, i want to make things right with the buyer asap.

    thank you,
    "jirie"

You attempted to correct the problem the wrong way around. You need to go into your PayPal account and add the email address that was registered with eBid for PayPal payments to your account. That should then free the funds.

No. You can leave your eBid one set to what you currently use so that any future payments are handled correctly. Once you have released the pending funds by adding your old email address to your PP account then you can delete it again if you wish.

you're a genius, the payment had been "sent" by ebid to the old email, so when i entered the old email back into paypal, the payment showed up.

however, now for some reason, i can't verify my paypal account, though i entered my bank account number, and it said the account was already on file.

i am currently on hold on the phone, waiting for a paypal rep to answer.

just got my paypal account verified, payment received, i'm ready to mail out my first sale!

Congratulations, and may there be many more. This has reminded me that I asked a question to seller topclassgifts a week ago and I have not had an answer. I have also sent a nudge. Any idea how I should proceed? I am not too fussed about the item but am wondering if the seller is still around (0 feedback)

15 minutes on the phone to PP to get it sorted? I hope it was toll free. I thought it might take a while so I retired to me bed as it was 03.00 here.

I don't know why your account verification should have been affected. Did you add your old email address as an additional address to your PP account or did you delete your current one and replace it with the old one and then swap it back? I meant you to add it as a second address; sorry if I wasn't clear on that and it caused another problem.

Still...All's well that ends well. Here's hoping you get more sales via eBid.

Additional: Just took a look at your listings and you might want to reconsider using Run Until Sold. Doing that leaves your items at the bottom of search results.

Consensus seems to be that the most productive option is to list your items for 8 - 10 days with 10 auto-reposts. That allows your items to rise up to the top of search results and increases their visibility. If you do that you only have to manually re-submit them 3 times a year so it is not much more work than just leaving them languishing.
