Yes - I occasionally buy them.
Thing is... with modern technology you can now easily transfer from cassette to CD via your PC. So if I see something of interest, and its fairly cheap, I'll often take a risk.
The risk part being that cassettes tend to deteriorate over time, and unlike vinyl or CD you cant check them out for obvious flaws.
I've bought cassettes from markets or car boots which, when played, proved to be useless... sound quality zero. Still, I knew the risk and was willing to take it...
I'm selling my cassette tapes because I've copied them all to CD's, so I know they're good and it's legal because I own them. I've sold a couple here, and I suspect the buyers are making their own copies.
I've only sold one LP since we moved here, sold quite a few when we were on GreedBay, so I'll wait for the collectors to find them.
I think it becomes illegal if you sell the original and retain the copy, you must destroy any copies made when you sell the original (or include the copies in the sale for no extra profit).
Cassette tapes are like VHS videos at car boots - they go for anything from 10p to 50p, but generally no more. Unless it's a really good or rare tape I can't see them being big money spinners, what with mint downloads being readily available for a few pence per song and the catalogue growing all the time. It's like 8-tracks, who wants those any more? They're far superior to cassette tapes and yet they seem to have totally died a death, of interest only to collectors.
I suppose while people still have radio cassette players in their cars there will be a demand for them though!

I am still buying them - occasionally
I still buy audio books on tape, because I use them in the kitchen and car.
As has been suggested, copying tapes to another media then selling the tapes definitely contravenes copyright law. That's what copyright's all about - the right to copy. Only the copyright holder has that. If you buy a book, tape, CD etc you have bought that one copy and that's it. I daresay just about all of us have taken copies for family and friends, though we shouldn't in law, and we're unlikely to get into trouble. But doing so for commercial gain, then admitting it in a public forum is probably pushing your luck.
I honestly thought it was legal as long as I owned the tape at the time I owned it! I wonder if it's legal to give the tapes to charity? I'll have to check out the laws. Otherwise, put them in a dark corner forever.
I just went through my listings and removed the tapes that I've copied. I left the ones that I listened to (wanted to be sure they were OK) and don't want to hear again.
And thank you for telling me.
