Thread: Dish towels need a category.

  1. #1

Default Dish towels need a category.

When I was looking for a category to list dish towels in, all I could find relating to towels was under Home and Garden, Bathroom, Towels. Dish towels don't reall fit there at all, so the only other option I found was in same category under Kitchen, other.

I think Home and Garden, Kitchen, Dish Towels, or Textiles would work well too as that could include place mats, tablecloths, potholders, etc. Thanks for asking.

In the UK we call cloths for drying dishes "tea towels". A search for those finds nearly all of them under "kitchen > other", so there does seem to be a gap, whichever terminology you use.

I had a bit of a problem listing some tablerunners and napkins/serviettes too - as I wasn't quite sure where those should go!

If I was looking for a general title for all these sort of things, I'd go with "kitchen linens", but I'm not sure how well that travels Internationally!

Could be, the OP suggested that one as well. That's two votes.

That would be fine for the dining stuff, but would you expect it to include tea towels?

I would think that would be understandable world-wide. Sounds good to me. Thanks for caring.

Kitchen linens works for me. I like it better than "textiles".
